Daily step goal calculator
Start from the steps you already take. Choose whether you want to unlock most days, walk a little more, or stretch. Get a round goal you can put in brb.
Suggested daily goal
5,500
About 10% above your average. A small push without missing every day. Put this number in brb. If you miss it for a few days straight, lower it. A lock you clear by walking beats a goal you learn to bypass.
Example
Example: if your Apple Health average is 5,000 steps a day, a reliable unlock goal is about 4,500 steps, a balanced goal is about 5,500 steps, and a stretch goal is about 6,250 steps.
brb blocks the apps you choose until that number is real. Start with a goal you can hit on a normal day. Raise it after the lock feels normal, not before.
Questions
How should I pick a step goal for brb?
Use a number you have hit before on a normal day. A goal you miss every day teaches you to look for a way around the lock. This calculator suggests round targets from your current average.
Where do I find my average daily steps?
Open the Apple Health app → Browse → Activity → Steps. Check the average for the last week or month.
Is 10,000 steps required?
No. brb lets you set the goal. Ten thousand is a common default elsewhere, not a rule in brb. A lower goal you hit is more useful than a high goal you ignore.
